Our Old Shelter
Built in 1978 and expanded in 1988 the old shelter just didn’t work anymore. From being too small, to mold, uneven heat, poor water pressure, and more it was simply not the animal shelter that our community deserved. But don’t take our word for it- a picture is worth a thousand words…
- Where do you put 42 bunnies in one week- the cat free roam room of course!
- Now to just find space for the 24 rats that are coming, too.
- We love our donations- but we just have to find space to put them. Next to the after-hours stray hold cats.
- Donated bedding is a huge help to make our animals feel more at home- but where can we store that?
- The extra kuranda beds have to go somewhere!
- A ‘state-of-the-art’ wash basin to keep down infection control.
- Ready at any moment, even after hours, for lost pets.
- We use EVERY CORNER for storage.
- Just a grate, showing its age.
- Barely fitting the transport van into our garage.
- Our ‘re-tail’ area to help new families.
- Guineas in the lobby
- Outside view from the un-paved parking lot
- Side door, original entrance from 1978.
- Outdoor runs, used as storage.
