Women’s Center of Marquette

Who they are:  The Women’s Center provides 24/7 emergency-intervention and crisis-intervention services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, dating violence and stalking in Marquette and Alger Counties, providing individual/group counseling and advocacy through programs that Protect, Educate, Advocate, Counsel and Empower (PEACE).

How they support us: The Women’s Center developed The Sasawin Project  to help survivors create escape plans that include safe placement for their pets.

PetSmart Charities

Who they are: PetSmart Charities is a non-profit organization associated with the PetSmart pet supply store. PetSmart Charities programs include providing space in the retail store for local homeless animals for adoption, grant funding and a shelter transfer program.

How they support us: PetSmart in Marquette, MI provides an adoption area which houses UPAWS cats available for adoption. They also regularly collect supply donations for us.

Action Shopper Pet Sponsorships

Who they are: The Action Shopper is a monthly advertising and classifieds newspaper distributed to the Marquette County area.

How they support us: The Action Shopper provides a full page color listing for UPAWS to promote events and pets available for adoption.

Your donation can make a difference and help UPAWS sponsor an ad for a homeless pet in the Action Shopper.

Who they are: Mares-Z-Doats is a locally owned and operated pet supply store.

How they support us: Purchase an item from the UPAWS Wish List and you will receive a 10% discount on items purchased for the shelter. Mares-Z-Doats collects the donated items at the store.

Who they are: Econo Foods is a large grocery store located in Marquette, MI.

Art of Framing

Who they are: U.P. framing shop

How they support us: You bring in a photo or a painting or anything with your pet in the image (does not have to be a pet adopted at UPAWS, but does have to be your pet) to be custom framed and Art of Framing will give 10% of that sale to UPAWS.
