Kyle Miller from Invisible Fence is doing a promotion to help us this year! For every dog (or cat) in 2020 adopted from our shelter and they purchase an Invisible Fence system, Kyle will donate $250 to UPAWS.

The Sasawin Safe Haven

Who they are:  The Women’s Center provides 24/7 emergency-intervention and crisis-intervention services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, dating violence and stalking in Marquette and Alger Counties, providing individual/group counseling and advocacy through programs that Protect, Educate, Advocate, Counsel and Empower (PEACE).

How they support us: The Women’s Center developed The Sasawin Safe Haven  to help survivors create escape plans that include safe placement for their pets.

How they support us: TacoMo proudly offers a discount for UPAWS adoptees upon request. Select dogs with more complicated behavior needs will receive at least one $30 voucher for either a Free Personalized Private Session or $30 off a class.

Who they are: PetSmart Charities is a non-profit organization associated with the PetSmart pet supply store. PetSmart Charities programs include providing space in the retail store for local homeless animals for adoption, grant funding and a shelter transfer program.

Diana Sullivan Art

Who they are: Diana Sullivan is a local artist that is a friend the environment and animals. She creates art inspired by the animals she loves and the ones living in the wild.

How they support us: Diana Sullivan will donate 50% of the proceeds of all unframed fine art prints to UPAWS.

Mares-Z-Doats Wish List Program

Who they are: Mares-Z-Doats is a locally owned and operated pet supply store.

How they support us: Purchase an item from the UPAWS Wish List and you will receive a 10% discount on items purchased for the shelter. Mares-Z-Doats collects the donated items at the store.

Econo Foods “Econo Cares” Program

Who they are: Econo Foods is a large grocery store located in Marquette, MI.

How they support us: Bring your Econo Foods receipts to UPAWS and Econo Foods will donate 1% of the sum of all Econo receipts collected. You can also drop off your slips at the UPAWS Westwood Mall kiosk or Mares-Z-Doats.

Who they are: Marquette County Local Businesses

How they support us: Many of the Marquette County businesses support UPAWS by giving a location to our change canisters. This adds up in a big way!

Art of Framing

Who they are: U.P. framing shop

How they support us: You bring in a photo or a painting or anything with your pet in the image (does not have to be a pet adopted at UPAWS, but does have to be your pet) to be custom framed and Art of Framing will give 10% of that sale to UPAWS.

Compassionate Pet Care

Who they are: Jessi Hurd is a licensed veterinary technician who is the first veterinary professional certified in animal hospice and palliative care in the Upper Peninsula. She performs veterinary nursing services in the comfort of your own home. Although she specializes in older pets, many services can also be provided for pets of any age. 

How they support us: Compassionate Pet Care proudly offers free in-home hospice consultations, free in-home palliative care consultations and free in-home nail trims to UPAWS adoptees with voucher and proof of adoption from UPAWS. Jessi volunteers for UPAWS in various aspects as well.
