About Millie

**Millie is NOT at UPAWS**

Meet Millie! She is a beautiful 3 year old female Anatolian Shepherd who absolutely loves people. Millie weighs 95 lbs, is spayed and on July 1 will be current on vaccinations. She is a typical Anatolian--which means she is loyal, athletic, intelligent and independent. This is NOT a beginners dog or a laid back retriever. Millie needs a strong handler and space to run. Like many livestock guardians, Millie is powerful andshows aggression toward other dogs. Although she lived with other dogs in her original home we believe Millie would do best as the only dog. She is a very smart girl and is working on training. Millie has made great progress but she requires an owner who understands the needs of livestrock guardian breeds and will continue to work with her. Anatolians will roam far and wide if given the chance so a fenced area (5 feet high) is needed. Although she is extremely friendly to all people, she can be overexuberant and could topple smaller children by accident. Millie an outside dog, although she is housebroken she is not yet trustworthy to be left loose in the house unsupervised.
She loves to go for walks every day and is learning to walk on a leash but needs a much more work.
