End of Life Services
The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter values compassion at every stage of an animal’s life. Choosing euthanasia for a beloved companion is one of the most painful decisions we face as pet owners. It can also be the final act of kindness and mercy we can offer our pets.
If you are unsure about the quality of life your pet is experiencing, please make an appointment for an examination and consultation with your veterinary clinic.
If your animal is seriously ill or suffering and you have reached a decision for humane euthanasia, please call for an appointment for our services. Our competent and empathetic staff is here to assist you through this difficult time. All services are by appointment only so that we can ensure the most resources possible can be devoted to make your animal’s passing as peaceful as possible and allow you space and time for mourning
We encourage end of life services to be carried out by your personal veterinarian, however we provide the service on a case by case basis. UPAWS prefers to reserve the low-cost euthanasia service for community members demonstrating the financial need for assistance.
Please contact UPAWS to learn more about this service.
