Community Spay and Neuter Program

Thank you for your interest in our Community Spay and Neuter program! We are thrilled to offer this service to help ensure the health and well-being of pets in our community.
Each month, we carefully select a limited number of applicants for this program. If you are selected, we can only provide assistance for one animal that is at least six months old.
How to Apply:
To apply, simply visit the shelter during our open hours, Tuesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM, and fill out an application. Please bring the following:
- Proof of Residency in Marquette County: This can be a driver’s license or a piece of mail showing your name and current address in Marquette County.
- Proof of Government Assistance: This must be a physical letter or statement that includes your name and confirms your benefits are current.
Important Details:
Once approved, the surgery appointment must be scheduled through your personal veterinarian, as we do not have a veterinarian on staff. We only cover the cost of the procedure, so it is recommended that you already have an established vet.
If your pet is not up to date on vaccines, be aware that most vets require vaccinations prior to surgery. Some veterinarians can provide these vaccinations at an additional cost, so please plan accordingly.
If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out at 906/475/6661 or email supervisors@upaws.org. We’re happy to assist you in any way we can!
