Meet Peanut - and prepare to be completely won over.
This girl has personality in spades. Friendly doesn't quite cover it. Peanut is the kind of cat who makes you feel like the most important person in the room the moment you walk through the door. Warm, social, an absolute doll - she has been waiting a long time to show someone what she's really made of.
Peanut was surrendered to us because she'd been having accidents outside the litter box for years. The very first thing we do when any animal comes through our doors is run a urinalysis - and sure enough, Peanut had a serious bladder infection, along with urinary crystals that had likely gone undetected and untreated for a very long time.
She wasn't being difficult. She was telling someone, the only way she knew how, that she was hurting.
Two rounds of antibiotics and a switch to Hill's c/d prescription urinary food later, Peanut is comfortable, healthy, and thriving. She'll need to stay on the c/d food for life - a small, simple thing that makes an enormous difference for her.
And the personality underneath all that discomfort? Absolutely worth the wait. This cat is ridiculously, wonderfully, over-the-top friendly. Pure joy in a tabby coat.
She deserves someone who will listen when she talks and she likes to chatter!
One more thing: Peanut's adoption fee has been generously sponsored by Jo Rita Verdi. She's ready to go home - and thanks to Jo Rita's kindness, the welcome mat is already out.
