In 2017, Kimberly Randolph’s story about her UPAWS adopted pet cat Ruger won a $50,000 grant which was awarded to UPAWS from the Petco Foundation!
In 2018, the Petco Foundation announced that the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter was selected for a Holiday Wishes Award for $25,000.   The award was given thanks to an adoption story about Will LeClair and his five year wish to adopt a bunny being fulfilled.
