Spay Day 2021: Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Help Available

Annual Spay Day USA 2021 has arrived! UPAWS is once again working with the local vet clinics to offer the service of low cost spays and neuters.

To aid in the efforts of ending animal homelessness and to offer a much needed service to low income pet owners, each area veterinary clinic has offered to perform a limited number of reduced cost spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats and limited available bunny spays (pricing is below).

To be eligible for the Spay Day USA event, you must be a resident of Marquette County and have a real financial need for help. Also this program is not intended for newly purchased puppies. Questions about eligibility, please call UPAWS.

The number of surgeries that will be performed at the reduced cost is limited and granted on a first come-first serve basis. Pet owners that need help can email info@upaws.org or call 906-475-6661 to set up an appointment to come in to fill out the application. You must provide drivers license (MQT County), and proof of low-income assistance (Food Stamps, Bridge Card, Disability, SSI, WIC), and be able to pay the fees that same day.

Surgery prices – first price is just surgery, second is surgery and vaccines:

Dog spay:    $35.00 / $75.00

Dog neuter: $32.00 / $72.00

Cat spay:    $32.00 / $72.00

Cat neuter: $29.00 / $69.00

Rabbit spay: $32.00 / Rabbit neuter $29 (limited availability for rabbits)

Proof of up to date vaccines (distemper and rabies) is required at time of surgery for cats and dogs. If your pet are not up to date you will have to purchase the vaccine package.

A huge thank you to the Marquette County Veterinary Clinics that make this service possible!
