Spay Day 2024: Low-Cost Spay and Neuter Help Available

Annual Spay Day USA 2024 has arrived!

To aid in ending animal homelessness and offering a much-needed service to low-income pet owners, various area veterinary clinics have offered to perform a limited number of reduced-cost spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats and limited available bunny neuters (pricing is below).

To be eligible for the Spay Day USA event, you must be a resident of Marquette County and have a real financial need for help. Also, this program is not intended for newly purchased puppies.

The number of surgeries performed at the reduced cost is limited and granted on a first come-first serve basis. Pet owners who need help can stop out at the shelter to fill out the application. You must provide a driver’s license (MQT County) and proof of low-income assistance.  Pet owners who need help will be required to sign up in person at the shelter to show the letter of proof of assistance.

Surgery prices – the first price is just surgery, the second is surgery and vaccines:

Dog spay:    $45.00 / $88.00

Dog neuter: $42.00 / $85.00

Cat spay:    $42.00 / $82.00

Cat neuter: $39.00 / $82.00

Rabbit Spay $42 / neuter $39 (limited availability for rabbits)

Proof of up-to-date vaccines (distemper and rabies) is required at the time of surgery for cats and dogs. If your pet is not up to date, you will have to purchase the vaccine package.
