County Dog License
The Marquette County Treasurer’s office and UPAWS would like to remind dog owners that Michigan State Law requires that dogs be licensed. Did you know that if you purchase your Marquette County dog license at UPAWS that the shelter retains 1/2 of the license fee? What a great way to protect your pet, support the shelter and fulfill law requirements! Licenses can also be purchased at a variety of other locations (such as your local veterinary clinic) and if your dog recently received a new rabies vaccine, they are eligible for a 3-year license. The Treasurer’s office no longer charges late fees for dog licenses – if you are beyond your pet’s rabies date, you will not be penalized.
