Programs That Help You Help Us!
Kuranda Dog bed Program
We have chosen Kuranda dog beds and pads for our animal shelter because they are so good for our dogs. The dogs would like a warm bed while they are waiting for their forever home. The floors here at the shelter are hard and a Kuranda bed and pads would enable the dogs to have a soft, elevated bed to lie on during long nights.
We have had great success with the Kuranda program with almost all of the kennels receiving donated dog beds. Thank you to everyone who has donated a Kuranda dog bed &/or fleece pad. Thanks to you and the Kuranda dog bed company, our shelter dogs are much cozier and comfy…the dogs LOVE them!

Snuggles Project - a special project of Hugs for Homeless Animals
The Snuggles Project is a special project of Hugs for Homeless Animals, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to homeless and displaced animals.
The Snuggles Project was founded by their president and founder, Rae French, in 1996 because of her heartfelt need to do something for the innocent victims who find themselves in animal shelters without a bit of comfort to call their own. Picturing them in their hard cold cells made her heart ache to do something to help. So she got the idea of security blankets for shelter animals. The security blankets are called "Snuggles." Each animal would get a Snuggle to cuddle up with to feel warmth and comfort. Most shelter animals are kept in areas with stainless steel braces and hard plastic flooring or even bare concrete floors. The Snuggles would allow them to have a little reprieve from the coldness of the pen they are kept in.
The Marquette County Humane Society is a participating shelter of the Snuggles Project. Snuggles for our homeless cats are needed. To learn more about this program & how to help our cats be snuggly, please visit their website at http://www.h4ha.org/snuggles
