Strut Your Mutt

The Marquette County Humane Society's Second Annual "Strut Your Mutt" Benefit Walk for Homeless Animals was held Saturday, September 8th 2007 at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park.  It  was a huge success thanks to the outstanding support from our wonderful community.  Over 220 dogs and their people pals enjoyed a sunny morning of socializing, food, contests, games, exercise and "dog-gone" fun!

The power and compassion of our community raised over $16,000 for the shelter!  All the money raised went towards helping sheltered pets find new loving homes.

A Heartfelt Thank You from all of us and the shelter pets!

100's of pictures were taken! We hope you enjoy them! So many happy people and happy dogs!

Check out the Pictures

“Deb’s Dog of the Month” Program Honored at MCHS “Strut Your Mutt” Event

The MCHS "Strut Your Mutt" Event honored a very special MCHS program; the "Deb's Dog of the Month" Program and we were very happy to have Deb's sister, Mikki Danielson as our special guest. The "Deb's Dog of the Month" is a program established for MCHS by the family of Deb Danielson in her memory. The "Deb's Dog of the Month" Program donated all the "Strut Your Mutt" dog toy prizes for our event. Mikki cut the start ribbon and walked Dodge, the September "Deb's Dog" who was one of the adoptable dogs brought to the walk in hopes to get these wonderful dogs into loving homes. Good News! All six homeless dogs were adopted that following week! Read more about the "Deb's Dog of the Month" Program at this link.
