"Strut Your Mutt" 2012 Record Breaking Succcess!

UPAWS 7th Annual "Strut Your Mutt" 2012 Charity Walk for Homeless Animals held Saturday, September 8th at Mattson Lower Harbor Park was a HUGE Success thanks to the outstanding support from our wonderful community!

Dogs and their people pals enjoyed a morning of socializing, food, contests, games, exercise and "dog-gone" fun!

The power and compassion of our community raised over $25,000 for the shelter! All the money raised goes to help sheltered pets find new loving homes.

Prizes were awarded to the top pledge raisers in each category:

YOUTH:
1st - Michelle Doney $823
2nd - Cassie Peterson $500
3rd - Ashley Steer $300

ADULT:
1st - Karlyn Rapport $1917
2nd - Beth Van Dreel $1500
3rd - Kerry Willey $1135

A big thank you for the outstanding work done by every single person or business. Whether you raised $1 or $1000, donated, or registered alone - every single dollar raised is very much needed & appreciated! Thank you to everyone who attended, registered, raised pledges, donated, volunteered, spread the word and supported Strut Your Mutt! Thank you to all local newspapers, radio and TV media, business & individual donors, as well as our hard working volunteers and staff.

Without the support of our community UPAWS would not be able to do all it does for our homeless animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Step 1 - Register!

Fill out the registration/waiver form and mail it to UPAWS or register online at http://www.firstgiving.com/upaws/strut-your-mutt-2012

Register by Sept. 1st and take advantage of our Early Bird Special and save and to have your dog be entered in a drawing to be our "Official Chair Dog" to start the dog walk - "The Leader of the Pack"!

Step 2 – Help Even More by Gathering Pledges!
You can help even more by gathering pledges! Any & all pledges are gratefully accepted. Pledges are due on event day at the registration table starting at 9:00 am.

Step 3 – Walk with Us on September 8th
If you haven't pre-registered you can still register with donation at the event site between 9:00 and 10:00 am. Walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

Stay for the Finish Line Fun, with doggie contests (including best costume, perfect couple, stupid pet tricks and more), pet vendor business and service booths, raffles, and a good time visiting with all the Great Dogs and their people pals! Free refreshments for you and your pooch!

Prizes will be awarded for most pledge money raised by the top three Adult (over 16 yrs.) and Youth (15 & under)! All prize winners' dogs will receive FANTASTIC prizes too!

Raise $25 in pledges and get a free Strut Frisbee. Raise $100 in pledges and get a free ‘Strut Your Mutt” t-shirt! Raise $500 and get a FREE Hooded sweatshirt!

Plus new this year, everyone who raises $250 will be in a drawing for a BISSELL Lift-Off® Multi Cyclonic Pet Vacuum (valued at $170)!

Free “Strut” bandannas for registered dogs and goody bags for all registered participants! (while supplies last)

All top pledge raisers will also receive a full size bag of Dr. Tim's All Natural Dog Food and a 15% off boarding gidt certificate from the Animal Inn.

Registration Information

 ~ Register – $15 adult/$5 youth if postmarked by Sept 1st (after Sept. 1st - $20 adult/$10 youth)

~ Pre-register by Sept. 1st & enter a drawing to have your dog selected as the official “Leader of the Pack” to lead the start of the walk!

~ Fill out the registration form, sign waiver and mail or fax it to UPAWS. Or register online at http://www.firstgiving.com/upaws/strut-your-mutt-2012

~ Free Strut bandanna donated for each registered dog

~ Free goodie bag for each registered walker

~ All participants must sign walk waiver

~ If you missed pre-registering, you can register the morning of the event
