Fun with Fido July 4th! A fun Run/Walk on the 4th of July! 8:30am (Rain or Shine), family and fido friendly event. Entry Fee is $15 (all funds go towards helping the homeless pets at UPAWS!).

Handcrafted Wooden Plaques for Fastest Dog in 8 divisions. Dog Costume Contest with PRIZES following the walk.

2015 UPAWS Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash Plaques

Pictured are two of the award plaques for UPAWS’ July 4th Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash 1- or 2.5-mile run-walk and costume contest.   In the run-walk, a total of 8 dog-human teams will receive a plaque, each for placing first in one of the divisions.  In the costume contest, 1st through 3rd place dogs will receive a plaque, and ribbons will be awarded to those placing 4th through 8th.

This year’s locally-made hardwood engraved plaques were crafted at no cost to UPAWS.  They were made possible through in-kind donations from Kudos Laser Engraving of Marquette; woodworker Tom Redlon whose work can be seen at the Marquette Farmers’ Market; and an individual’s cash donation.
