July 2009 - Scrappy

ORIGINAL BIO:

Scrappy is a charming female 10 year old Wheaton Terrier mix who arrived with Porky, another 10 year old Wheaton Terrier mix. (Porky has been adopted). They find themselves at the humane society at their Senior age because their former beloved owner died and the owner's family brought them to MCHS in the hopes that they could find a new caring retirement home. Their former owner found the two girls as puppies in a dumpster in Ohio. They were very young, and had been obviously placed there to die. So he nursed them back to health and loved them dearly until he passed.

Porky has found a new home and Scrappy is at MCHS still waiting. Now you just can't help but fall in love with Scrappy...she is too cute! She is a gentle soul with a heart of gold, the dogs were a little confused at first but came right along with the staff and volunteers TLC.
Scrappy is always at the front of her kennel, looking for you; she loves everyone! She is like your kind, sweet Grandma, who may not be moving around as fast as she did but she still can go for a good walks and play (she is actually quite spry).
Scrappy likes hanging out, going for walks outside to go potty (she is house-trained) and take walks with the volunteers and staff.
Scrappy would make a perfect companion for anyone who is looking for a low maintenance, gentle, kind, friendly dog who just wants to be loved, go for a walk and just be your friend. The shelter really wants to find this great senior dog a home so she doesn't have to live the rest of her life at the shelter. Scrappy deserves a loving home to retire in. We invite you to come on out and meet her, take her out and go for a walk or sit. We think you'll love her as we all do.

Scrappy was pretty scruffy when she arrived. So Yoopie Puppy grooming volunteered and groomed her and Porky. This is Scrappy's "after picture" Doesn't she look awsome and happy! Happy Dog!

Porky & Scrappy are the July Deb's Dogs of the Month. The Deb's Dog Program is generously donating to have them spayed, vaccinated and have a general vet check.
