July 2009 - Porky

Porky and Scrappy were two senior dogs that were chosen as the July Deb's Dogs. They both were adopted into loving homes.

ORIGINAL BIO:

Porky is a sweet female 10 year old Wheaton Terrier mix who arrived with Scrappy, another 10 year old Wheaton Terrier mix. They find themselves at the humane society at their Senior age because their former beloved owner died and the owner's family brought them to MCHS in the hopes that they could find a new caring retirement home.

Now you just can't help but fall in love with either of these two...they are too cute! They are gentle souls with hearts of gold, they are a little confused right now but coming right along with the staff and volunteers TLC. These two are always at the front of their kennels, looking for you; they love everyone! They are like your kind, sweet old Grandparents, who may not be moving around as fast as they did but they still can go for a good walks and play (they are both quite spry).
Porky & Scrappy like hanging out, going for walks outside to go potty (they are house-trained) and take walks with the volunteers and staff.
Porky or Scrappy would make a perfect companions for anyone who is looking for a low maintenance, gentle, kind, friendly dog who just wants to be loved, go for a walk and just be your friend. The shelter really wants to find these great senior dogs a home so they don't have to live the rest of their life at the shelter. Porky and Scrappy deserve a loving home to retire in. We invite you to come on out and meet either of them. We think you'll love them as we all have.

Scrappy and Porky's picture is their "before" shot. They will be going to the groomer, Yoopie Puppy, who is donating the grooming service. Check for their "after" pics in a few days.

Porky & Scrappy are the July Deb's Dogs of the Month. The Deb's Dog Program is generously donating to have them spayed, vaccinated and have a general vet check. They now can be offered at a Sponsored Adoption Rate of $50 each (they can be adopted seperate and be just fine) or Buddy Program of the pair for $75.
