Lily was our April 09 Deb's Dog. She was adopted by a very nice couple. ORIGINAL STORY
Lily is a lovable female 3 year Lhasa Apso. She arrived at the shelter because she was very ill with bladder stones and her former owner couldn't afford the care that Lily needs. When the shelter realized the severity and pain that Lily was in; we immediately contacted the family of Deb Danielson and asked if Lily could be considered for the April Deb's Dog of the Month since Lily would need surgery to remove painful bladder stones. Lily was in such pain that she urinated blood in small amounts every 20 minutes or so. Well, Lily has had her much needed surgery last Friday and is on the mend. Thank you to the Deb's Dog Fund for helping little Lily!

Lily will need after care and close monitoring for the rest of her life to make sure the bladder stones don't return. Bladder stones may recur at any time. Therefore, dogs that have had bladder stones are advised to follow a strict diet given by the vet. The vet might prescribe a new diet every so often along with regular vet check up's. She will be placed in a loving home that can provide her upkeep care and be able to watch for any recurrance. Here is a informational link on dogs and bladder stones: bladderstonesindogs

Now a bit more about all the great qualities that Lily has. Can you say SWEET!! Oh my goodness...Lily is as sweet as they get! Now that she has had her surgery, she is doing very well with her potty and goes nicely outside. She is use to children, other dogs (she is terrific with all kinds of other nice dogs) and she is good with cats. She doesn't like to be messed with while she is eating so she will be placed in a home teenager and up. She doesn't know too many tricks but she does know sit, stay, and down. Lily likes to be groomed and is fine with baths too. She is friendly, intelligent and lively and will make a good little buddy. Lhasa Apsos are spirited and devoted little dogs, which are affectionate.
Lily deserves a second chance with a loving, active family or person who will love her, care for her and her needs, and who will keep her forever. If you have a caring heart and you think you can provide the means to care for Lily, then please consider adopting this affectionate, wonderful little girl.
Her adoption fee is $115. Lily is a special girl, so the staff will helping Lily find her special home. If you would like to learn more about Lily call to talk to our staff at 906-475-6661 or come on into MCHS to learn more.
