Our March Deb's Dog was Riley. He was adopted by a great couple. Here is a link to his Happy Tail. Happy Tail Riley

ORIGINAL STORY
Rily is a lovable 2 year old Shepherd mix with a super soft golden tan w/ black coat. He is already neutered and vaccinated so he is offered at a adoption rate of $55. Rily was adopted from the shelter in December 2006. His name was Prancer and he was one of the 6-7 "Reindeer Pups" in a litter.
Rily was surrendered back to MCHS because his former guardian wanted to find him a good home. He said, "I love this dog and I want what's best for him."
Rily is a great dog who is house-trained and crate-trained, entering with the words "kennel up". He walks well on leash and likes car rides. Rily is a good-tempered guy who is fine with children, babies, cats and other dogs. And Rily is well trained, knowing many commands such as sit, stay, down, off, come and heel! He loves running in the woods and fishing with his humans by the river. But above all, Rily adores being with his people pals.
Rily has been a loyal, loving companion for the past 2 years and longs to be a "best friend" for a loving family or person again.
You see, Rily has Addison's disease. It is a disease with symptoms that are common to many other ailments. But once Addison's is correctly diagnosed, a properly treated dog can live a normal, active life. Addison's disease dogs will need medications and monitoring for the rest of their life. Medication is either given daily by pill or a monthly shot. The cost of monthly care is an average of $90. That is why he has been chosen as our Deb's Dog of the Month. The Deb's Dog program has paid for a month of his medication which the staff and Rily is very grateful for. And we have had another very person who helped Riley too. Please visit these sites to learn more (it is two of many informative sites on the topic).

Rily deserves a second chance with a loving, active family or person who will love him, care for him and his needs, and who will keep him forever. If you have a caring heart and the means to care for Rily, then please consider adopting this affectionate, wonderful guy.

Rily is in Foster Care. Call us to meet him. You can arrange a time to meet Rily!
